Review: NYX Matte Lipsticks

At this year's Professional Beauty. I bought five matte lipsticks from NYX. I have never used lipsticks from here before. I have always been wary if they are any good. But the matte range is quite surprising. The swatches on my hand were so pigmented. And I loved the colour range! So I thought I would give them a try as they were good priced. They have a really nice range of colours. A lot of reds. I picked out five shades. With a matte lipstick, you would think it would be quite drying but these lipsticks do not dry out my lips. They apply so creamy and easily and look matte. The colour pay off on the lips is amazing. So bright. Surprisingly, they did last for a few hours. Even when I was drinking, I would still be able to see the pop of colour on my lips as it leaves a stain on the lips. With this lipstick you could just top it up if you wanted. I would recommend this lipstick if you are looking for a matte lipstick and wasn't looking to spend a lot on a lipstick. It is a good product and you could possibly find some dutes for other high-end lipsticks.

Mac's Matte Lipstick

Mac cosmetics are known for there range of lipsticks. They do a number of types of lipsticks but my favourite range would have to be the Matte lipsticks. They have some gorgeous colours. I find that matte lipsticks look more dramatic and clean on the lips and they last much longer. Whereas a lipstick with shine or of a cream texture to be more prone to smear and smudge throughout the day. Mac lipsticks are very pigmented in colour so you wouldn't need to layer and layer the product on. I can see why InStyle Magazine awarded Mac the "Best Lipstick Range" title.  With a matte lipstick you would think it would be quite drying on your lips but Mac's matte lipsticks are quite hydrating and don't dry out the lips as some other brands. My favourite colours at the moment would have to be Chili and Diva. A coral red orange and a dark purple. The pop of colour is great for fall. If you was looking for the perfect pillarbox red it would have to be Ruby Woo. But if you wanted to go slightly darker Russian Red would be the one. They also do a pretty babydoll pink called Snob which is the barbie pink. If you wanted a everyday lip, you could try the nudes. Myth is a popular nude, but if you find it looks quite washed out on your skin tone I would suggest Honey Love which has more of a pink undertone.
